Lissa Watts-School Counselor

My name is Lissa Watts, counselor for Alternative Education in Redondo Beach. I am a South Bay native and also a Continuation High School graduate myself! After high school, I went on to earn my Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, a Master's Degree in Educational Counseling and Psychology, a P.P.S Credential and an Administrative Credential. I have been a counselor with RBUSD since 2004 and have been the counselor for Alternative Education since 2009. I consider Alternative Education to be my "dream job." I am passionate about helping students find success while in high school, and also helping them find their purpose so that when they graduate, they too can find their "dream job" and be fulfilled in life!  Outside of work, I am a mother to three sons, so I don't have much "free time," but I do enjoy being outdoors, whether its camping, going to the beach, or anywhere else the "Watts' Family Adventures" take me! I look forward to working with you and your child during your time here in Alternative Education!

As 21^st century learners, all students need digital citizenship to help them safely and responsibly use computers, the internet, and digital devices.  To equip students with the skills to be successful as digital learners, use social media responsibly and respectfully, and follow online laws and regulations, RBUSD’s Instructional Technology department will be providing teachers in grades TK-12 specific, grade-level digital citizenship lessons to teach in March and April.
