Hello! My name is Kristi Tam, and I am a K-12 Independent Study Teacher in Redondo Beach Unified School District. It is my first year working in RBUSD, and I love how everyone has a “students first” motto here.
My goal is to equip students with the knowledge and tools they need in order to attain a high level of self-efficacy. I want my students to be able to say, “I can do it!” no matter which endeavors may be faced in the future.
I have always had a heart for mentoring youth in academics and athletics. As a result, I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, a Master of Education degree in General Education with a Teaching emphasis, and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the University of California- Riverside. Then, I attended the University of California- Los Angeles Extension to earn a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education, an Early Childhood Education Certificate, and a Child Development Site Supervisor Permit. Finally, I earned a Teaching Gifted and Talented Education Certificate from the University of California- San Diego Extension.
In my free time, I enjoy distance running, Olympic weightlifting, spending quality time with my family and friends, and going on adventures near the beach.
